After an event today I'd rather become a girl guide then buy a game guide.

Come on, the things are the biggest pile of rubbish I've ever seen and such a blatent attempt to gain money and ruin an exprience the game is meant to give off.

A kid who lives round the corner knows I own an N64 so today he came round and wanted to do a swap with me. In the end he took F-Zero X and I agreed to take The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask off him as I hadn't played it. So he runs off and about five minutes later he returns and hands the game over to me and also this big book.

"What's that?" I asked.

"I brought along the game guide aswell just incase you get stuck" he said.

"Hmmmm...ok"

I'm sure the boy was trying to tell me I'm rubbish at games or something with what he said, it reminds me of the time he beat me at Perfect Dark even though he's a few years younger then me.

So before I even played the game I flicked through this big book which had pictures galore and a map of every single area. They should of called this 'The Legend Exposed' not 'The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Offical Game Guide' the book basically showed everything you were playing for to see and was all in all a step-by-step guide to how to complete the game. This my friends is taking the games difficulty level down from 'Worth playing' to 'Not worth playing at all'.

I really feel for the person that sits there, plays a game, gets stuck and then without even trying runs to his game guide for the anwser. The truth is though, I probably would aswell if the puzzle was really getting on my nerves and was reaching the impossible. When I do that I get the puzzle done but don't feel happy or anything, I just feel like I've cheated. If I had used the game guide throughout a whole game I would of felt like I cheated myself by buying a game worth fourty quid, buying the guide for around ten and then just seen everything in the book before I had even played it.

They shouldn't exist I tell's ya.

I summon everyone with a game guide to go and burn it now before you ruin a great game.

Games like Zelda shouldn't have guides like this it is just wrong. It's like reading the last few pages of a book or seeing what happened at the end of a film without even watching it.

Money saving tip for thsoe who buy game guides : Use online walkthroughs such as the ones Special Reserve provide.

You can check out my Mario Party 4 walkthrough on Ukwalkthroughs.com

It wont be up for a few days though...and this wasnt the perfect place to advertise...

The only time I used a game guide which was in book form, I borrowed it off a friend.

My brother bought an FFV111 one but that was to see all the enemies and pics.
