Press Release from ITV:

Our flagship Saturday morning kids show “SM: TV Live” has had a disappointing slump in ratings. This is due to the new BBC1 early morning show “Dale Winton’s Early Morning Kipper” grabbing a large slice of those viewers. Dale’s mixture of camp humour, innuendo filled jokes and showbiz gossip with the stars is just too good compared to our dross.
As a result we here at ITV have cancelled “SM: TV Live” (it died when cheeky Geordies Ant ‘n Dec left anyway), but fear not, as we have a new show up our sleeves….

It’s here, the early morning video game show you’ve always been waiting for, its SR: TV Live!! Yes, we here at ITV have teamed up with your favourite video game retailer, Special Reserve to bring you an awesome early morning extravaganza.

Here is the schedule for the first programme:

9.00am- Hosts Tony and Mr. Snuggly welcome the viewers to the new show with lots of witty banter, talk to some of the audience, who are all Special Reserve Regulars, they then tell the viewers what’s coming up on the show.

9.10am- All the latest gaming news rumours and gossip with the Special Reserve News Monkey courtesy of Upwire.com.

9.25am- “The Notables Sagely Words of Wisdom” Each week we give a SR Notable the chance to give out their words of wisdom on their chosen topic of the week.

9.40am- “The Semi-Naked Chef”* A sure fire ratings winner. We’ve acquired the services of everybody’s favourite chef, Jamie Oliver. Each week in this cookery slot he shows the viewers how to make interesting breakfasts like “Well wicked bacon sarnies” or “Cornflakes with herbs on”.
*This section is only a trial run, and if the public doesn’t like it, we’ll send Jamie back to the BBC, or if we get enough donations in the Blue Peter style appeal, we’ll send him to Mars, where the aliens can teach him some proper English.

10.00am- Video game reviews, previews, tips, cheats, hints and walkthroughs courtesy of our “Gameaday” hungry Regulars.

10.30am- Tony & Mr. Snuggly interview various gaming personalities and games designers, sometimes via video links to Japan and America.

10.45am- “Gunge the Spamming Newbie” the mini-gameshow we’ve all been waiting for. Each week we take the most spamming “Noob”, as voted for by the Regulars, they then choose which Notable we want to do the honour and after a series of pointless quick fire questions, the spamming Newbie gets the gunging of his or her life. Bringing back memories of the gunging game shows of yesteryear.
*Special Reserve or ITV accept no responsibility for Newbie persons injured as a result of industrial strength gunge soaking.

11.00am- “Cowboy Bebop”. Yes, we’ve acquired the rights to the best Japanese anime series ever. To be shown in it’s 26 episode entirety (if our run lasts that long), we know this is the sort of animation that people want to see instead of that American rubbish.

11.25am- “Notables”. Taking over from SM:TV’s “Chums” is this hilarious view into the lives of the Notables, Special Reserves number one extended family. Each week our Notables get into various fun filled adventures and exciting capers.

11.40am- “Cheaters Walk of Shame”. Each week we name and shame those who have been caught cheating on reviews. They are then publicly humiliated on national television in front of an audience of millions.

11.50am- “Challenge Ant”. Another recycled idea from SM:TV, but this time a nervous little Newbie must challenge our Notable “Ant” in a series of questions. If the Newbie gets more right than Ant, he or she wins the “Gameaday” of their choice.

12.00pm- “Music to watch games go by”. Each week we have a number of live bands in the studio giving us some great tunes.

12.25pm- The end of the show, Tony & Mr. Snuggly say goodbye hoping to still be on air the same time next week.

*We are still considering the use of a couple of comedy puppets on the programme and we might have a section called “Michael Barrymore’s Fun House” taking the idea from the old kid’s show with Pat Sharp, having Newbies run around Barrymore’s house of fun trying to win “Gameadays” in various fun and gungey games.

Yeah, maybe they could race Mario Kart style!!
But I also reckon there'd have to be some kinda warning to the parents of the kids taking part, for safety reasons!
Green shells are dangerous!! And the spikey ones are especially!!

I think that there should be a section with me in it. One lucky person gets to race Grandprix around different kart tracks around the country. Prizes to be won for winning or losing.

That was great!

It sounds soooooo like the real SM : Tv Live, but better as we are all on it. :D

Nice post too. Well done!

Bet I could challenge Ant.... but I'm not a newbie. :-)

Hehe, I did this with FOG TV a few months back, with a normal channel and a comedy channel. And you can certainly come up with some interesting ideas, as you have done. {:)

LOL, brilliant idea!! And 'gunge the spamming newbie' would get EVERYONE interested!! But no Loki I see??
I also don't know about the name, sounds too much like the Ant and Deck show or whatever it's called!
And i'd also have to choose between Soccer AM or SR on a Saturday morning, hmmm.....

You should be one of those people who comes up with the ideas for new TV programmes when you're older!! And you should definitley be 're-warded' for this post!
Chnage the name and you'd find fame :) (after you've found the money first of course!)
