As far as I'm aware you can't get a Powerpoint Show (PPS) file to play 'in a web page' as such, like flash files. It's downloaded as a temp file and then played locally.

I've never tried this myself but you do seem to have a few options, the success of which depends on how much animation you have in your presentation.
You should be able to save/convert your PPT as HTML and then put the files on your web site.
Another option is to use a "Powerpoint to FLASH" converter. Google shows quite a few - mostly paid for but there are trial versions.
Or - try OpenOffice. This allows you to convert to HTML which may be more successful than PowerPoint's efforts - and you can also create a FLASH version. But I've read any transitions etc. you use get dropped during the conversion - but might be worth a look.
