Hi Freeola,
Over many months I've backed up a few GBs of data using my complimentary Freeola Online Backup (Livedrive) account.

I don't have the Livedrive client running continuously, instead I use an old backup PC and manually start Livedrive mostly at the weekend when bandwidth is un-metered.

I've just setup a new(old) PC as my backup machine - Livedrive configures this as a separate identity. I don't want to spend forever re-uploading (20CN 448kbps upload) the same data via Livedrive. Is it possible for the current backed up data to be connected to my new PC?

i.e. My account shows PC-1 and now PC-2
All the data in PC-1 is the same as PC-2. If I try to delete PC-2 it asks I contact Support.

Thanks.
If it looks like it's possible I'll raise a Ticket with any missing details.

Just to update this in case others are interested or find themselves in the same situation.

Freeola contacted Livedrive for me who responded with:

"With our de-duplication technology, if a customer selects data to upload that is already stored on our servers, the data will be queued for upload and will appear to upload instantly when it reaches the top of the upload queue."

I was sceptical but it's true!
Even though the Livedrive interface states x GBs to upload when it reaches files already backed up it doesn't actually carry out the upload - BUT the backed up file can then by found online via Livedrive under the new location. Clever stuff...

I have over 25,000 files on Livedrive (mostly tiny ones) so the scanning/syncing process still takes some time but it works well not having to re-upload files - especially if you are using the service for large photos.

More details here on Freeola's Livedrive service FREE to broadband customers or you can buy it separately :¬)

What you're asking makes sense to me but this is something we will have to pass on to Live Drive probably. Drop us a support ticket if you haven't already (due to waiting for a reply here for a while!) and this can then get looked into on you account.
