The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Hopefully just a blip and things will be back by the morning.
[s]Hmmm...[/s] Glad to hear you are on the case :¬)
My Freeola connection has also picked up the DNS now.
I can see my visitor traffic is flowing normally again.
It looks like the problem occurred late morning yesterday.
Re. Broadband
I checked my neighbours' Freeola line (same exchange/node) and it doesn't look as if they had the PPP fit I saw. As the sync was fine I didn't panic!
[s]Hmmm...[/s] Email stuff was/is unrelated to the DNS issue. There was a particular database table that is read by the free email and login system and this had some problems due to a modification that was made to is and is being looked into (it's a disk space issue so should be easy to resolve).
There are some improvements behind the scenes to our DNS system that are due to be completed next week. These should help prevent the issue you saw with you subdomain disappearing.
It certainly seems that the Gremlins have been out in force over the last 24/48 hours!
I used to use one London and one Telford in my PC before realising that the router defaults override these.
I *love* Google but I'll stay with Freeola/Enta's official DNS for now as my hacked router GUI doesn't play nicely with DNS setup.
Shame they are always slow to update.
Worse 24 hours for
www.hmmm.ip3.co.uk for years! Hopefully you'll be able to see what occurred and plug it?
Is this related to the email backlog?
Along with your Status page going unavailable earlier my PPP session failed authentication yesterday early evening - lots of strange goings-on in the last day...
Some of the subdomains for ip3.co.uk were missing from the zone. This has now been corrected but the broken zone info will have propagated and you will just have to wait for the fixed info to propagate to whatever DNS server you are using.
I'm guessing your using the standard DNS servers assigned by your ADSL connection. These cache for some time. Try manually changing to something like Google's DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).
But still unavailable to me - HTTP & FTP ?
Am I waiting for DNS to update?
NB. Freeola's Service page went missing a little while back?
[s]Hmmm...[/s]EDIT: Google Real Time shows there are some visitors on the site so hopefully things are recovering :¬)
Pain£ul outage...
EDIT2: I can reach it if I don't use my Freeola ADSL ? :¬P
There was a problem with the DNS for your particular subdomain, which I've now fixed.
You already have a ticket open with Support, which I expect they will respond to shortly.
Any update on this please?
My site is still unavailable - both HTTP and FTP.
[s]Hmmm...[/s] I'll raise a Support Ticket.
Edit:
Ticket raised 186699
Strange one (to me) as my other server 7 sites are working but Hmmm is down? :¬(
