I have just registered my domain, and wanted to set up Google mail accounts for my company using this domain name.
During the Google Apps set-up process, I have to prove that I own the domain. In order to do this I need to add a text record to the DNS configuration for the domain.
Any ideas how I do this?! Any help gratefully received.
Thanks.
Thanks for updating PHA as many people just seem to disappear :¬)
NB.
This is Freeola's Techie forum so don't be too surprised if your post is moved.
[s]Hmmm...[/s] Glad its all working for you.
"You can add a TXT record via your Freeola control panel. Log in to your account and choose the option "Forwarding, DNS and Sub Domains" from the left hand menu. Select the option for "DNS and Sub Domains" and then select the domain name you wish to update. Click "Change DNS" and you will be presented with a number of options, one of which is "Create/Modify TXT and SPF records".
Selecting this option will allow you to enter the required record."
Haven't verified that this works because Hmm's approach worked perfectly.
I have made the change as described. It hasn't worked yet (i.e. Google can't yet verify ownership), but based on the msgs on the Freeola page this is probably because it could take up to 24 hours to replicate my changes to the domain. I will continue to hit "Verify" at the Google end, and will hopefully be up and running soon.
Once again, thanks a lot. Really appreciate you taking the time.
I've just recently done this for a client of mine.
Hadn't done it before so I'm no expert!
Following Google's help pages and using the following all worked for me.
In MyFreeola:
View/Edit Domain Details >
Hosting & Settings >
View/Edit DNS Settings > Here you can modify MX Records, TXT and SPF Records as per Google's Help pages.
