I have tried several free ,cgi and .php scripts, each of which has failed to work, even though I have followed the instruction regarding changing CHMOD permissions.
Is there any way that you can get guest books and other .cgi and/or .php scripts to work on non-InstantPro Freeola hosting, or do I have to move elsewhere?
CGI and/or PHP scripts will work fine with Freeola - assuming they are compatible (some functions aren't available) and set up correctly.
Is your guestbook also using MySQL? If it is I assume you have signed up for this service?
The best way forward may be to say which guestbook script you are trying to install, then Freeola (or others) may be able to say if this is compatible.
Posting any errors you receive may also show if it's a configuration issue or if the script is trying to use something that's not supported.
