Leaving his parents panic stricken and distraught, running around the beach in the desperate search for their only child.
Almost simultaneously on a vast mountain rage, known to Artailians as The Moutnains of Selinus, home of vast valleys and lakes giving views which would likely bring any human to tears, two lovers stroll across a field of Incus flowers. Like a cross between a Rose and an Orchid it is said among Artailians to give of spores thought to be a powerful aphrodisiac which heightens the senses and emotional state. These spores, are only released under certain atmospheric conditions and today, is one such day. The two lovers stroll hand in hand, basking in the glory of their newfound love and reveling in eachothers company, laughing joyfully as they lay down in the grass. Unknown to them, a dark shadow approaches from behind as the two become lost in the bliss of their surroundings and heightened state of emotional arousal. The male, human equivalent of a healthy 24 year old turns way only for a moment, looking down into the valley. The silent darkness which consumed the boy only moments before, approaches the woman's hand beside her as she stares at it with almost equal curiosity as the child before her, she calls her lovers attention moments before it encroaches onto her hand and by the time he looks round she is gone, as is the curious shimmering darkness now seemingly consuming the inhabitants of this vast and, peaceful planet.
