I have to say that I am now convinced that Nintendo don't treat us in Europe as well as the Americans, their fellow Asians, and the rest of the world. Yes, they do produce good consoles and great games like Mario and Zelda to go with it. But when it comes down to it, the rest of the world gets more Nintendo than us, for a lot longer!

For a start, all the latest consoles are launched everywhere but Europe, and we're always left 'till last to even know when we can expect the launch date, while the Americans are there with their widescreen TV's and GameCube's, laughing at us! I'm happy now that we know the launch date, and it's only just over 2 months away. But once again, we were the last to know!

The N64 sadly came to an end last year, and many people have given up with it, going for PS2's and PC's while awaiting the GameCube's launch. But there are still some of us, including myself, who are still trying to find UK/PAL versions of the N64 games we still want and missed-out on. Trying to find a brand-new, mint-condition N64 game now is about as hard as finding a needle in a hay-stack! Especially if you're after a top game like Zelda!

It's an almost impossible task for us, but for the rest of the world it's almost simple! Look on this site, and there are only about 6 games still in stock, and the same applies to any other UK store, even on-line. But go on the American game sites for the likes of EB and GameStation, and you'll instantly see pages full of almost every N64 game you've ever heard of, and sometimes even more!!

But just like with the launch dates, we're left out. And the likes of Special Reserve and Electronics Boutique UK are no longer being provided with anymore N64 games, and are only left with the limited stock they have to keep us hungry gamers happy! - or not as the case IS!!

The only way us Europeans can get the games we want is by either paying rediculous prices at non-game specialists like Woolworths, or by picking up a scruffy old pre-owmed game that's been sribbled all over and crushed by some immature 5 year old! And the prices aren't neccesarily that great anyway, some people still try to rip you off with around £30 for a game that's over 3 years old!!

The UK and the rest of Europe is also an area of Plante Earth well-known for many rumours to occur over the launches of new games and consoles. They GameCube was hyped-up for a definite March launch, but it's ended up in May. Top future-releases like Perfect Dark Zero and Mario Sunshine don't even have confirmed release dates, and rumours are already growing that we won't even see these games untill 2003 at least! 'So much for the expected Winter '02 launh!' is what we could all be saying soon!

Nintendo don't ever seem to do anyhting to clear-up or clarify these rumours, leaving us with vage expectations and promises that they may not even keep! Some games were delayed longer than expected on the N64, and the delay of Zelda: Ocarina of Time hit us hard!! But Shigsy and co. just seem happy to let all this happen, while we never hear or see anything like it elsewhere!

If Nintendo want to stay (or even start being more!) loyal to their fans in Europe, then they should start being a lot more honest with us now, and let us in on what's going on at the Ninty-HQ when it happens! Of course, they cannot tell us top secret info, but surely they can help to clear up rumours of delays with launches and other problems!??
It's about time they started showing us more respect! As we are a huge part of their success, in terms of quantity! Several times bigger than the USA!!
If they don't do it soon, they could find that they're loosing people to the likes of Sony, their big rivals!

I personally am eagerly awaiting the UK launch date of the GameCube, and intend to get a Cube and some games during May. But I feel let-down by Nintendo, as I was expecting a launch in March, just like many others.

The N64 was a lot more succesful in Japan and America than Europe. The SNES lost out to the megadrive in the UK but was biggesr elsewhere. NTSC is the format of the console and it needs to be converted to PAL. YOu should be happy Nintendo are going through the effort of keeping the prices down and giving full screen and 60hz you ungrateful git. If you dont like it import one. I did and it hasnt cost me any more than it would ove rhere. In fact...Ive saved money!

btw - Some of your other points -

Even brand new N64 games look second hand thanks to the shoddy cardboard box that gets crushed in the post.

Mario has been confirmed for Winter 2002 in Europe. Perfect Dark Zero hasnt even been officially announced yet so dont get your knickers in a twist over that one. Expect to see PD0 at xmas 2003 at the very earliest.

The problem with Europe is the translation problems. Thats why it takes so long for stuff to get over here

Yeah, Europe is bigger in size than both Japan and America, but not when you put the US and Japan together!

I think one reason for why we always get everything last is because of our size, and we therefore have a big demand for a HUGE number of consoles and other Nintendo products.
It must still take ages to produce so many products. Even if it takes a whole week to fill the order for Europe, the ones for Japan and the USA a probably only done in a day or two!

We're obviously NEVER gunna get Nintendo stuff first, as they are based in Japan! But surely they could consider getting the big load outta the way first??
America can't be that desperate, especially if they can still get N64 games and the rest!

Where the hell did you hear that? Europe is the biggest market... but it is not bigger than the other 2 put together!

and when they do get released over here they are shoddy conversions with that border around teh edge of the screen !

but nintendo has promised the 60hz thing and full screen for us PAL users , which is promising ;-)
