50% of Sega's games for the next 12 months are being produced for the PS2. That's half of their games- HALF! Sega are made of nine individual development teams, with the biggest having 12 production lines, and the smallest having 3. The company can create near to 60 new games a year, and out of these 30 will be heading to the PS2! Brilliant!

However, some things do worry me. For example, Sega have yet to seriously get into third party development. Most of their games so far are ports of Dreamcats or arcade titles. If Sega wish to become the second biggest publisher in the world they really must do what they do best- makes excellent game.

Remember the Saturn? In terms of hardware it was Sega's worst hour. In terms to software it was their best, showing their technical ability, originaity and dievrsity. Today games like Panzer Dragon Saga sell at over £100 second hand!
NiGHTS is my favourite game ever.

What Sega need now is to get rid of the lame, second rate arcade conversions like 18 wheeler and press on with HUGE AAA class games. A new epic Sonic game, a sequal to NiGHTS!, the sequal to Space Harrier, an online classic, and lots of new, original concepts- like Rez.

If Sega an do that they they truly will be great.

They didn't bring it to the PS2!

What happened is this. Sega bought the Ferrari licence in Japan and made F355 for the DC. However, the Ferrari licence in the west belongs to acclaim (I think). So, in return for letting Sega use the licence for that game in the west, Acclaim got to publish Crazy Taxi (1), and a couple of other (quite obscure) games...

Sega games have always been known for fun arcade blasts. Of course some were not arcadem, such as Phantasy Star Online but you get the point. I think that the PS has, is and will benefit from Sge releasing games on our console. We all loved the games on the Megadrive and if they manage to get a few old classics onto the PS2 I think everyone will be delighted

I agree, Sega certainly have always made some quality games, most of which start off in the arcades first.

The conversions arn't all that bad, its jsut that Sega needs to learn a lot more about adding extra bits and making the game last longer and become more worthwhile, that way they can hit many audiences with different types of game.

Well if sega can start to make new games with new ideas with there 60 games coming, i think the PS2 un-original topics can go.

Im looking forward to sega making some more games for PS2 aswell, they make games like no other company, whether it be arcade games are RPG's. There is always something about them that is strange, yet i like. Should be a good year.
