Is it better to upload a blank banner and then use the logo tool for seo purposes (Instant pro) or to just go ahead and use a ready made banner.

eg would a search engine see the text of a over laid logo ?

I dare say it is only a matter of time before Google can read the text that you overlay an image with but for now they seem not to be able to do that.

As regards image SEO, there are a few things you can do that would help you.

(1)You can rename your images to include keywords and phrases for which you want to be found...

So for example if you had a BnB in Hemel Hempstead, you could rename a pic of the outside of the property something like bedandbreakfasthertfordshire.jpg
instead of outsidepic3.jpg.

(2) Next, you can right click the image, click properties, then details and add a couple of suitable tags.

(3) When designing your site, add ALT tags to all your images - You should not overdo this, especially for your main key phrase.

(4) Lastly, either do it yourself if you have Photoshop or something similar, or get your designer to run large images through the "Save for web and devices" tool to reduce them in size - ie the number of kb not the physical size ie pixels.

Hope that helps.

The logo creator generates an image with the text that you've entered, so there isn't actually any additional text for search engines to read.

I'm no SEO expert, but I'm guessing there wouldn't be much difference, happy to be proven wrong.
