Well, the title says it all. One of the most original bands around, fully taking advantage of the technology and the talent that is available to them, and they lose out to '21 seconds to go'. Says it all about the music industry really - why have talent when all that matters is looks. Fair enough Dido isn't too bad - kinda like a female David Gray, but it's all been done before. But 4 computer generated musicians (and they are proper musicians) that don't really exist, therefore can't be interviewed etc, just turns the industry on it's head. The Gorillaz album alone is really, really good, but the way they've used media to portray themselves just blows me away. What are your opinions on the Brits/Gorillaz?
I thought the Brits wern't too bad, I'm not very happy about them cutting Frank Skinner's best joke out though.

Im not too big on the Brits. Its not by kinda music that is involved in it. The way I see it, is that its mainly rubbish bands who win. Gorillaz are good, so they didnt win.
The Gorrilaz are quite good and I like what they have done.
My favourite is actually their new one which was their first... re-issuing it. Think its called Tommorrow Comes Today... they deserved something.
The Brits was absolutely awful... why was Kid A in best british album even thought it was last year and Amnesiac has been released, stupid.
They have a best pop act so why not indie?, rock? etc
The pop morons win everything, ah well least we have the NME awards.

I think Gorillaz is not only a fantastic joke on the industry, but the album is legitimately good.
I don't think they lost any sleep over no Brit Awards, just as I didn't lost any sleep by missing it altogether.

Gorillaz were certainly the best band nominated, and should have won something, but to be honest I don't much care for awards ceremonies, especially when some of them are voted for my listeners to commercial radio.
