1. The PS2 comes with an AV lead for the TV, is it worth getting a scart instead ?
2. I'll be using the DVD on it, I saw somewhere that the newer versions of the PS2 already have the remote drivers and there is no need to install them on your memory card, is this correct. Also I heard about the green border whilst watching DVD's, Does the AV input get rid of this or just the scart

It is definitely worth buying a scart cable as the picture improves tenfold. BUT you will get a green screen when watching DVDs using this cable unless you also boot up using DVD region X.

A scart lead makes a hell of a difference.
I bought a Blaze Scart lead from HMV for about £8 and it has a switch on the plug that you flip if you are watching DVDs thus eliminating green screen stuff - peachy!
