In response to Capcom's Killer 7 appearing exclusively on Nintendo Gamecube, Bill Gates has signed up some big names to feature in a rival game from Microsoft, for their Xbox console.

Killer 7 puts you in the role of an assassin, with seven separate personalities. This assassin, Harman Smith, is a wheelchair bound old man, and this is the angle that Microsoft wish to use for their game.

"Capcom have always been innovators in gaming" said Ed Weird, a spokesman for Microsoft "And for every bit of innovation in gaming, there are a dozen harpies willing to take chunks of that flesh, and model them into their own games. That is what we hope to do with our title, with a very special star. The days of heroes with six-packs is coming to an end, it's time gamers realised that heroes can also have serious flaws."

At first Microsoft contacted the remaining relatives of Joey Deacon, in the hope that they could create a game based on his antics, perhaps pairing it up with the breakdance craze that swept the nation at the same time as 'Joey Deacon fever' swept school playgrounds.

Unfortunately, Microsofts cash couldn't buy Deacon, and their henchmen were chased from the estate with rifles.

A second potential hero soon came to light for Microsoft though, John Davidson. The advantages here were many, John had perfectly normal motor skills, and apart from the odd tick, could be animated much like any other character. The only down point, was that John's Tourette's Syndrome wasn't really anything developers could work with. swearing randomly was hardly going to defeat a gun-totting psycho boss.

Finally, Microsoft settled on their star. Steven Hawking.

"What's great about Hawking" said Bob Tutchener, another spokesman, for whom I don't recall, "is that the story of the game writes itself. A man as knowledgeable as Steven is very aware of the universe around him, and as such, is the first to discover that aliens are planning to attack our planet. You then take on the role of Steven as he collects items to help save the world. Puzzles include putting them on high shelves, so he has to ram them with his wheelchair, and the like.

We can look forward to this game being rushed out just before Capcom's Killer 7, so it looks like Microsoft got their first.
