Hello, and welcome to the 957th edition of the "Who will win the Premiership" topic. In today's post, I will ramble incoherently along, possibly making a point somewhere if you look hard enough, about some football teams, including some or more of the teams from the Premiership:

Arsenal
Well, they're the best aren't they, they've got the best defence, the old Arsenal back four, an amazing midfield, half the French squad, the best goalscorer in the league, a huge squad, Pires, Henry, Campbell, Viera what can you say - they'll win it. Of course the discipline might be a problem, all the red cards are mounting up, 12 already this season. Key players will miss big games and their back-ups aren't great. Viera hasn't played well this season, Campbell is still prone to mistakes, Pires is a nancy, and Henry can't score tap-ins. Then there's the defence, the old back four is breaking up, Seamans getting slow, and Adams is almost collecting his pension - expect them to drop away before the end of the season.

Chelsea
When Chelsea play well, no-one can get near them, they are unstoppable. Hasselbaink and Gudjohnson are on fire, Gallas, Terry and Desailly at the back have been amazing, and Cudicini has surprised everyone in goal. Definitly gonna win the league. Except they can't keep their form can they? Win 14-0 away to Liverpool, then lose 597-0 at home to Worthing Utd. They yo-yo from one result to another, the manager can't speak English, the team is full of drunken jobs, Hasselbaink is a selfish get, and Lampard and Petit have disappointed - they'll be lucky to get a European place.

Leeds Utd
O'Leary's babies haven't played well so far this season. The squad is full of great players - Ferdinand, Smith, Kewell, Bowyer, Dacourt, Keane, Viduka. But they have never managed to recapture the sparkling form of last Spring. But this has been mainly due to startling bad luck with injuries, and as their players, esp. Dacourt and Kewell come back, expect them to heat-up and win the league by April....but then heat up is exactly what Leeds do - every game! Always cheating, dirty, dirty Leeds. Smith is a little get who can't play, just kick people, Viduka is fat, Bowyer is a thug, and Ferdinand isn't worth £18m. The chairman's already considering selling players. This lot will fade away.

Liverpool
A young squad, full of sparkling English talent, Owen, Heskey and Gerrard. Play quick, counter attacking football, ripping the top teams apart. Unbeaten against Man U in 6 games, this lot have real pedigree. They've brought in Nicolas Anelka, giving them a replacement for Owen when injured, and Thompson has brought the team back out of their slump. If they can beat the bottom teams they'll win the title.....except they can't cos they play boring counter-attacking football and have no real imagination. Long balls to Heskey, Owen (whose ham-strings snap every other game) and Anelka, who are just quick with no real skill. They might beat Man U, but they'll never win the league.

Manchester United
The reigning champions, won 7 out of 9 Premierships. The best midfield in the league, the England captain, "Goldenballs", van the man up front, more money than you can shake a stick at, and Fergie is staying on for another 3 years, you can't really look past United and that midfield can you? So what if they let in three every game, they score five? Yes it might be the worst defence Utd have put out in years, Blanc could be Ferguson's dad, (or the tramp in the town) Phil Neville? Enough said. Barthez is always good for a few mistakes a game, and Fergie keeps going for 4-5-1. Europe will be a distraction and so will Beckham's contract deal. Loss of concentration will cost them at the finish.

Newcastle United
The outsiders, tipped by some to surprise everyone and stay at the top, Booby Robson has done a marvellous job at the club. Shearer's scoring goals, Bellamy has shocked everyone, and not just with his pace, they play good attacking football, and with Dyer coming back soon, they will definitely put in a massive effort and end the season on top. The recent problems with drink might make some people think that they have problems, the youngsters just need sorting out. Although continuing problems could cause disharmony in the dressing room. Bobby won't help by telling off the wrong people, and Dyer only tends to manage to play one game before being out for a month with shin splints. Shearer can't keep scoring goals, and Bellamy runs offside more than Duckerby over at Maine Road. These guys haven't got a chance of winning.

So there you have it. Of the 6 teams chasing the title, I have conclusively proved that one, if not all of them, will definitely not win it. Of course, that's not to say that there is no chance that they won't all win it...or is it? Damn. Confused myself now!

Did you not see Hasselbaink on saturday? He has 5 assists, which i would not call selfish, and anyway he has a right to be selfish he is just to skillful to "pass" the ball, and hes a striker, strikers arent supposed to pass, they're supposed to score goals, which he has done very well this season. Chelsea definitely need to work on their consistency, and be like man u, but beat good teams, because they beat the crap teams, but loose against against good teams like Chelsea, which is the only reason they win the premiership every season, year in year out. I agree with the rest, appart from "they'll be lucky to get a european place", what are you on about? We are gonna win the FA cup easily and get a Uefa cup place, even if we dont we'll get either a champions league or uefa cup spot from the premiership.
In short chelsea will win the premiershit in 2003, and win the champions league, after getting a spot by putting on a late surge to come second on goal difference by 1 goal, behind man u.
