I want to put together some good-quality buttons for use on my forums, but I'm useless at anything graphical.

Anyone know of any (cheap) software or online systems that allow you to make good quality, professional looking buttons - easily? I don't want anything that looks naff or roughly drawn.

TIA

Nah, too easy!

Cheers for that guys - I'll have a look tonight. Typical of me to get a piece of software and not know that what I need is right under my nose!

yup, both Flash and Fireworks can make very pleasing static buttons, look at some tutorials on how to make good buttons:
http://www.fresherimage.com/

theres a Tutorial for a metal tube looking button, but you can easily make it in Fireworks if you give it sometime, looks very nice.

Yeah Fireworks is an image editor, very easy to use and produces excellent effects. Easiest way to learn is to play with it I find, same with all the Macromedia stuff.

I have the Dreamweaver 4/Fireworks studio - but I haven't gotten around to using Fireworks or Flash yet.

All I need are static buttons - does it do those?

Fireworks is the bees knees in my humble opinion. I love it. You can download the trial and then upgrade it to *cough*ware.
