Sony have this new 'Eye' thing out soon, that allows a certain level of interaction with games - putting this into say Fifa 2003, would be an excellent step (or more likely, Fifa 2006 World Cup Edition: The Group Stages, then 'The Second Round' and then 'The Finals'!) VR is also developing, but is a long way away from getting the real 'realism' into its looks and sounds. When it does, that will rule! *cough* But thats a long way away............ Interaction is also played upon with the dance mats and arcade machines, such as that cycling/flying one. They have a 'grab' in the interactivity, but often look pretty terrible. So. Here are some ideas/facts for the next steps in visual/interactive/'grabbing' gaming................beware!
SHOCK TREATMENT
I have used this before, and I'm shamelessly doing so again. Have shocks jabbed into you if you do anything wrong. Also imporves performance! Shocks vary on the fault on screen - although death in game does not translate exactly to real life!
SIBLING HOLDING TV
Get a younger sibling/specialy trained monkey (same thing) to hold up your TV. When, for example, you go down a hill, the sibling/monkey moves the TV closer, and goes 'WOOOOOO!' This in turn is reversed for up hill. Therefore, you have an interactive screen! Or not.
WALL TO WALL
This is semi-serious. And very very expensive. Have 4 (wall to wall, floor to ceiling) Plasma screens in a cube shaped room, with projectors showing the game image on the seperate screens. As the game moves along/up down the player has to focus on different screens. In the ceiling would be the speakers/sub woofers etc. For FPS games, the screen behind you could be a black spot - as you can't see - and the two screens at the side the edeg of your vision. With a racing game, all 4 views would be different angles from your car.Imagine a SSBM fight with 3 mates in that! Door in the floor by the way. :D
CINEMA INFILTRATION
Link up a console to a cinema projetor. Done.
VR
A serious one. VR could really revolutionise gaming in its interactivity stakes. The long standing idea of 'being' in a game could actualy be true. Games would never be the same again - and in many they could actualy be far more scary/fun/exhilerating. Resident Evil in VR? *shudders*

And you can buy projectors, so that whole "Cinema Infiltration" thing isn't a million miles away. I'm sure I read somewhere ages ago that it was dangerous on your vision to use projectors for games.
Or it might have been bad on your console... Not sure?
But what's the SONY Eye thing all about??
I've heard about it but I don't have a clue!?
Excellent.....
Now for the wall to wall plasma screens.
