Right Click the dirve you want to check, (C: for example) then click properties.

On the tools tab is a button for Error checking, click it. Tick the bottom box to do a surface scan (or the equivilant of).

You probably want to do the top tick box too.

You'll must likely have to reboot so windows can do the scan on startup, it will take a while depending on the size of your drive.
