Just heard that the Hobbit will be released on Gamecube!!
What fantastic news that is!
I can just imagine, or can only imagine, of what it'll be like.
We are promised Zelda style features along with an absolutely Mammoth quest.
Just think, the Story that started it all will be playable on the Gamecube!.
Sneeking up on enemies, creeping through forests, Slashing at Spiders, Gandalf and Smaug the Dragon!
Sounds Very familiar doesn't it?
But before you start saying its all a little Zelda, what people must not forget is that it is based on a 70 year old book, the book that started it all really.

The book has had me enchanted now for quite a number of years, heck, ive even had a fair go at the Sinclair Spectrum's attempt at the Hobbit game with its typing gameplay that got a little annoying.
I had always hoped that somewhere down the line news would appear of a 3-D go anywhere game and from this Gamecube announcement it couldn't have come at a better time.

Either way I can't wait, controlling Bilbo Baggins on his Quest, using the Ring to avade Trolls will have many up to all hours thats for sure.
Let's just hope it lives up to that.
2003 then..........

Hm, should be OK. Lord of the Rings is much better though. They should make a Zelda version of that.

Ah, it'll never beat the Spectrum version..... Hold on! What am I saying - of course it bloody will!

I actually played the Spectrum version way back when it was first released. All I can remember is waiting for the pictures to be drawn line by line.

If someone would've told me that in 20 or so years there would a second version of the game on a super console called the Nintendo GameCube with an almost photo-realistic gameworld in full 3D tracing Bilbo's adventure step by step - I wouldn't have believed a word of it.
