That's all everyone seems to talk about at my school, either that or PS2's! And I seem like the only one who's still interested in talking more about console gaming rather than PC and on-line gaming.
Althouhg i'm a big Nintendo fan, I do also enjoy talking about other consoles, but as i'm not a big PC gamer, I find that talking about PC games just isn't my thing. Yeah, I can name a few, but I only have games like The Sims and Championship Manager, and i'm yet to experience on-line gaming like everyone else.
It's not just gaming they talk about now, PC specificatons are also a big talking-point. They talk about all-sorts that I don't understand! Including speeds of PC's, graphics cards, all kinds of upgrades, and every technical detail and term you could think of! I just feel lost, and feel that everything has changed suddenly without me realising!
I don't want to become one of those people who knows everything about PC's (no offence to anyone who does), as I was more than happy just knowing and talking about consoles, mainly Nintendo.
I can still find one....maybe 2 people to talk Ninty with, but apart from that it's all PC's and PS2's!
I remember the good old days when hardly anyone really knew how to use a PC, let alone what a GeForce graphics card was! All we'd talk about back then was the CONSOLES we owned, once we'd played, and what we wanted to get next. Sega and Nintendo were the big talking points, and only one or two people ever spoke of PC's. Now it's the complete opposite way around!!
I'm hoping that this all changes soon, starting next month with the launch of the X-box, and the GameCube in May. Then, maybe everyone will realise that consoles still exist and there'll be something for me to talk about that I can also understand!
I'm not saying I don't like PC's, it's just that I don't know a lot about their technical sides, and i'd probably be ok if they just discussed PC gaming! On-line gaming's something I want to try, but i'll need some different games for that, and I can't expect to enjoy on-line consoles if I haven't even experienced PC's first.
Oh well, at least I have these forums for talking games!
