Be honest, it's crap...
Their news arrives a good month late, their bargain deals aren't so great, and their English is worse than Snipers.
But Game Programs haven't always been so lacklustre and unappealing... I mean, look at GamesMaster. Granted, it was a bit PC-ish, but for what it was, it was good. The whole Golden Joystick thing made it possible for gamers to be a part of the show, even if they were watching, the experience was still second to none.
Game Over wasn't bad either, although the Assasin didn't have a clue... he had a PS2 shoved so far up his a**e, that he was oblivious to any other forms of interactive entertainment! Matt Cuttle seemed to have a good eye for decent games, although he looked queer.
There's also that new one, what's it called... With Bits woman and 11 O'Clock Show guy... I haven't seen many episodes, but that, like most others it so late and behind the Internet in terms of news providing that it's almost a joke.
I think Game Programs should aim to provide a different service. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that delivering yesterdays news today won't earn you any points... or money for that matter. Instead of news, i'd suggest that Game Programs should provide proper reviews, assesments, and maybe even some insight into future games. Previews are a great way to attract viewers... simply telling them that the game exists and then rolling through 5 screenshots for the next 30 minutes isn't good.
Going back to my first point, Game Network Sucks... it really does - Bettina is a idiot, and they've only just cottoned on to the fact that no-one appreciates her making our mother-tongue sound crap. I hate her, she sucks!
Legend of Mir wasn't bad, but the fact that they've just made another game and completely ripped off the MIR engine is disgusting. Idiots...
This whole post spawned from my hate for Game Network, but I do think it's worth talking about - especially as the company/group that REALLY provides some decent material will be rolling in it...
I hope Paragon or Future make a TV program...
Game Network Sucks...
Game
Maybe, if it rises up the popularity chart a wee bit, C4'll move it to an earlier time slot?
Another slightly disappointing thing about it is the fact that they don't spend much time reviewing the games, they're very short 'n' sweet, but satisfyingly accurate and interesting, not to mention funny, I find the show funny, especially that bloke, what's his name...
The BBC has never done anything in the way of games, I think we should all write to em and say "oi we pay our TV fees and want a games programme, right?? comprende? understand? Capishe??" if you know what I mean :-D
Unless you own a Gamecube, of course....
;)
