HEY there FOLKS, I am REALY mew TO THE world OF COMPUTERS AND NEED some HELP. I am looking for A CD RE-WRITER AND DVD PLAYER. I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT EITHER AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY COULD GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON purchasing either ITEM, FOR EXAMPLE AM I BETTER WITH A COMBO OR BUYING SEPERATELY, WHAT MAKE IS THE BEST WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IN SPEED.
Most importantly for myself is the cost aspect an I f anybody could point me in the direction of a website which would allow me to get a discount on either item It would be greately appreciated.
I anticipate many reply's amd would like to thank you all in advance.

If you are looking for a descent drive for a good price then instead of buying 2 seperate drives then go for a combo drive and i think the LG 32 read/12 write/8 re-write and 8 speed dvd drive is best (it also has burnproof technology) i have used many of these and found them to be reliable and perform well it is £109 go to

Depends if you plan on making any Music CD compilations??? You'd make life a lot easier by having a a seperate CD/DVD ROM and CD/RW for that.

Well, I have no idea what the best model is of either device, but I'd say this ...
If I was going to put two separate devices into my machine, it would be because I wanted best of breed in each case, not least because it uses up physical space that I'd prefer to use for a hard disk. So I'd go for a combo.
Purists would probably say that a combo gives you second-rate quality on one or other of the two, but then who cares? As long as it works ...
