I have been able to find out that all PS2 games should be no more than £40 a copy, which in a way is good as Sony have finally sussed that if they pump up the price anymore, people will not accept it and there sales targets will all fall, but with this, they will be seen as more affordable, and more attractive! Just to tell everyone who is dazed or confused-and let's get this straight: THE PS2'S DVD IS HARDWARE!!! This will mean for better visual, and the Movie Card that comes out a year after will make it a top of the range DVD Player!

Just to give you the official figures, the price of PS" games is £37.99, the price of the Dual Shock 2 Joypad is £19.99 and 8MB memory car £29.99. In terms of the £299.99 price tag for Britain, just remember how expensive the PS1 and Saturn were when they were first launched! We had this argument then too, and it will happen 5 years from now(not in the case of the Gamecube, £199.99 is a very fair price...)

That's about what I'd have expected.

People have complained about the price of PS2 itself, but I'm quite at ease with it. Yes, I *do* think it's another case of rip-off Britain, and I wish Sony had set an example with a maximum price of £199 - but it's not exactly a problem exclusive to Sony, is it? Almost everything is more expensive here than in Europe & the US.

When you think how the price of everything has gone up in the last 5 years, and then realise that Sony have stuck to the original PS1 price for the hardware, I think it's good going. You could argue that it is actually cheaper and better value than the original PlayStation; and of course, this time round you get a DVD player thrown in.

If your price for software is indeed correct, that also means that the games are actually £5 cheaper than original PS1 releases 5 years ago; presumably the "£40" will be £39.99, and original PS1 software was mostly £44.99.

Just my opinions, of course!
