It depends on what game you want. If its a really good game like GTA3 than it is worth it but if you want a game like Samckdown JBI than it isn’t worth paying 40 or 45 quid out for. Here is a list of some of the games that are/going to be worth paying that kinds of money for, well what I think are worth paying for:
₤GTA 3: it has hours of game play in it so most people can never get board of it. I can't anyway.
£GTA Miami: this is gonna be good coz for the first time you will be able to go on the beaches, not like GTA3 were the beach is 1 piece of sand which is rubbish. It will be an add on for GTA3 like GTA London was for GTA 1 but I think it is safe to say that it will be very good and have a long game play but I personally can’t wait for GTA 4.
₤SSX Tricky/THPS3: Both of these games a4re based around the same kinds of moves and can both be played for a very long time.
₤DMC: This game is awesome although the ending could be made a bit better but hey its capcoms game so they had to put a bit of their style into the game.
₤MGS2: This game is gonna be sooooo good when it comes out and with all the hype that is surrounding it then I think it will have to be or no one is going to buy this game.
₤Legends of wrestling: personally I don’t think I will want to buy this game because if I wanted to see old guys in spandex wrestle ill just go and rent the video...might be in black + white but it'll be watch able.
£Smackdown 4: this game will not be coming out till the end of the year most probably. If it is like the other games I think it will be out November time for Christmas like the other 3.
But some games just aren’t worth the money but for the ones that are then you should definitely buy that game.
If some games are like poor, not a long time of game play and overall not worth buying them then simply dont buy them some games that I think aren't worth buying are:
£WWF Smackdown: This game is good for multiplayer but lets face it mostly games are used for single player mode, with this game it is the story mode but I personally don't like the story mode on this game because every time you unlock something you have to start all over again, and lets face it, it can get boring walking down the corridor and seeing Vince McMahon (is that how you spell it) every 10 mins or so.
£Wipeout Fusion: although a lot of people have said that this game is ;)good;) I just dont agree with them. I think it is just like Extreme G 3 Racing and that got boring over the weekend, lets face the facts this is just a good weekend game not 1 of those games that you can play for weeks and weeks on end for.
£James Bond in 007 Agent Under Fire: Thus game is brilliant when you have got the car missions on, I like the 1 were you are driving the car firstly and then get the Q-Booster and go flying over the bridge thing and then end up in a tank. But the when your on foot it can get a bit boring just shooting the exact same guys over and over with a machinegun while in real life I’m pretty sure the guy would be dead within 5 shots for GOD sake. The multiplayer is good for first timers but if you have been on 007 Goldeneye for the N64 then it is quite boring because it is pretty much the same because all your doing is running around trying to kill each other but I like the Q-jet because when ever some 1 is aiming at you I just fly away out of trouble. Overall this game is not so good because in a way it is just a clone of all the other 007 games:
·Tomorrow Never Dies: The single mode.
·World is not enough: The single player mode.
·007 Golden eye: The single player mode, the multiplayer and also the analogue sticks.
Sony has got a good reputation so people automatically have trust in them in having great games, they have all sorts of products already out in this world of ever increasing technology:
·Televisions: These are some of the most expensive televisions going out there 1ce again because of Sony's reputation.
·VCR's: There are some very good video recorders out there; I personally want 1 because I have knowledge of Sony's reputation. Or because it will make my ps2 look better in a way.
·Watches: I know there isn’t many watches out there but they are made from a big branded company which many people trust so you personally most know that people are going to buy them.
Even though the ps1 is getting older and older by the day it is still very, very good. If it wasn’t how come people are still buying them at a great rate, well not as much of a great rate as before but still a great rate. I think they are selling good still though because of young children who want a games console, but there parents are not going to pay out 200 or so quid for 1 console, and so they buy them a console…take a guess at which 1. Yeah you got it the ps1, and at the birth rate in the world you’ve got to think that they are going to continue to sell good for quite a while to come. I wouldn’t pay 300 or 150 quid for my young child if I had 1, would you? The ps1 still has some good games to buy such as:
·Syphone (however you spell it) filter 1,2 and 3.
·Monsters Inc. for the younger kids.
·THPS3 is good but the graphics aren’t as good as the ps2 graphics.
Overall I think Sony has a right to put games out at such prices, but in a way I don’t think they will put the prices down because of heat from other company’s, mainly Microsoft with the O so amazing Xbox or even Nintendo with the absolutely brilliant GameCube because either way most of the ps2 games are defiantly worth the price.
