In another thread, soneone was asking what a "pop" was. To some, this may be trivial, but then these people have been here a while. Not every chatsite works in the same way as this one does, so this guide comes into fruition.

The idea is that if you have a tip for newbies or regulars about the place, or want something answered, then post it here. All the posts will then be collaberated into one main post that can be popped for future reference.

Please don't spam this thread up, it could really be a useful resource. In theory, the finished list will be so comprehensive, that no other posts about the forums etiquette will be required, and the thread will get no replies, other than pop.

Here is my first one - on pops.

----------------

Popping a thread - Threads are listed in date order, so older posts go down the list and off the page. Writing "pop" in a post puts it back to the top of the list without adding to the topic.

-----------------

You get the idea. It may seem daft to some, but if it was comprehensive enough, it would be a useful little tool for newbies and regulars.

For those that cooperate with the no spamming this thread, thanks.

Slave.

POP was originated from my catchphrase, which was thanks to pb resembling my very own smilie to the bloke on the Pringles box.

So, you were only half-right.

SPAM - Completely pointless post that has nothing to do with the subject being discussed. Much like Jimmy Duck's post a little further down this page.

Post - A message that you "post" onto the internet. This very thing you're reading, in fact.

Thread - Collection of "posts".

Forum - Collection of threads.
