It had to come around again some time. My work's Christmas party was yet again the scene of embarrasement for some, amusement for others and plenty of things to complain about for everyone.

Firstly the food, it seems to get worse every year, I mean when you order a Baileys dessert, you don't expect to get 9/10 cream and 1/10 Baileys. I couldn't even taste it!

Next, the DJ. Sounds like he just brought his crappy old decks with him, plus a load of old CDs and records, over half of which were scratched. There was more skipping than a young girl in a school playground. Every time a record jumped or stopped the crowd clapped and booed. I expect the company found the cheapest DJ they could, at least I hope they didn't pay him too much...

Last year we had a free bar all night (yep, led to a few people remembering the name 'Armatage Shanks' the next morning, including myself). This year, 10pm till 1pm. It may sound like a long time, but by the time you get served, drink and dance you've found that you've only ordered about 3-4 pints before you have to pay again. Still, we got around that by getting loads of people to get pints and lining them up on the table. Pity I wasn't drinking this year though (or probably just as well after my reputation last year).

Then the same thing we have every year, during the meal someone gets up and makes a boring speech about our products and how they are doing so well, luckily that wasn't very long this year (phew!). Still brings out the attention seekers though.

Now my throat's killing me from wearing a tight collar and bow tie and I've just managed to crawl out of bed after the long journey home through thick fog at 3am. Still, same again next year I suppose!

Your Party sounds remarkably the same as my staff party except we went to a really posh country club, and our party hats were real hats! you couldn't get to the bar and the speeches etc all the older staff trying to dance, oh joy.

The media students at Newcastle college are having a Christmas do on Thursday at Wetherspoons. Should be a lot of people there, but not many that I know, since most of the people in my class are under 18. Devastating for them

Anyway, I'll go along, I like Wetherspoons, bring my friends and get drunk on cheap beer. Oh, and I'm meant to be getting drunk today. Hurrah

A woman left my mums work because she was moving abroad and getting married so they had a big leaving do for her.

At the party an office worker started a fight with a boss (consequently gettin fired on monday) and the barman tried to pull the woman who was moving away (engaged at the time) which resulted in a drunked brawl between the barman and the womans fiancé.

Also the owner of the company's Y reg BMW got a big scratch on it from some drunken fool reversing into it.

You dont realise the psycho's that work in the insurance industry until times like that.
