“Hello pretty secretary lady, I’m here with the BBC to speak with some of the groovy games designers here at Capcom….”
“What? Hey, aren’t you that Billy guy off Eastenders….”
“hahaha! Never mind about that young lady, I’m here to see your most interesting games designers. Please!”
“Um…Gavin and Barry are in at the moment, just wait over there a minute.”
Small office in Capcom building, Billy is sitting next to two 20 something men, Barry and Gavin.
“So, er ,Gavin, what do you do here in Capcom?”
“Well, I calculate the polygon structures for games characters so that they can be Bitmapped and then added to the cel structure backgrounds.”
“Ok, wow, that sounds cool.”
“Not really, I just sit at the computer waiting for it to calculate all the data. Sometimes though, I get some really strong coffee.”
“er, OK! Great, and what do you do outside of work, I bet you’re a king on the dance floor with the chicks…”
“um, I don’t really go out that much, I prefer to stay in and watch tapes.”
“Heh, all those porno videos, I bet, and you’ve got plenty of girls flocking round you, yeah?”
“well, not really, I just like to sit down and watch my Star Trek collection, and I don’t like the way you call ladies chicks either.”
“So, cool, your gay then. That’s pretty cool these days!”
“No, I just don’t talk to girls much…”
“…o..k…and Barry, what do you do?”
“I make the backgrounds for Gavin’s characters.”
“I bet that involves a lot of interesting work.”
“Not really, I just put the pictures together.”
“Yeah, but you have some great ideas there, you must get high to do all that work.”
“Don’t touch drugs really, never needed them. I drink a lot of coffee though. Do you like my new T-Shirt?”
“Ah, Slipknot! So you’re a big fan then, I bet you go to all the concerts too. I’m sure you’ve got a few stories there…”
“No, I just bought the album. It’s a bit heavy, but I listen to it when I drive my car.”
“Heh, what is it? Ferrari? Jaguar? BMW?”
“Vaxhaul Astra. White one in the car park out there. It’s got a sunroof.”
“OK. Thanks guys. Well, that about wraps it up for today. Next week we’ll visit a health farm and ask ‘How cool is Colonic Irrigation?’ “

I actually work with an ex games designer type bloke... he worked for the firm who did Aliens verses Preadator here in Oxford... He's odd, and has cool toys but he aint cool himself!!
