Is it just me or do all the 128 bit consoles look pretty much the same graphically wise.Could you really spot the difference between the games on the GC ,X BOX or playstation2 without being told which console it came from,I mean the only things that separate the consoles are the other devices incorperated in it.The games consoles are not games consoles any more.
It really depends on the game developers and how they make use of the power a console can offer. Take Bungie's Halo for example...
Now Halo is a remarkable game, and it's rumoured to be an XBOX exclusive because other consoles simply can not hack the power to run the game, which is rubbish because Bungie can easily take out certain polygons here and there, which comes to my final point...
It does not matter on what the spec is of a machine. It all comes down to the developers that make the game. If you are playing a game on the PS2 for example, where you must walk through a tunnel, you will notice how straight the sides look, because the PS2 can not handle that extra amount of polygons. Take the same game for XBOX, and you will see how rounded and smooth the tunnel now looks - this is the difference in the consoles.
There is so much more I can point out, but it all refers to the same point to be honest with you.
