The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
What is it with this longest thread crap? There have already been SIX started in the PC Gaming forum, and there are new ones springing up in the other forums which already have one.
At the risk of being labelled a spoil-sport... GIVE IT A BLOODY REST, WILL YA?
You need at most ONE per forum, otherwise you take posts away from the others and it becomes self-defeating.
Finally, check the goddam rules:
New topics: Must constitute an interesting subject. That's most things - they can be jokey but they must not be meaningless chatter. Please don't make unnecessary new topics.
Messages in The World's Longest Thread Record Attempt: You can post anything in this thread providing it is not offensive. This is the silly thread.
Messages in other topics: Short comments ARE allowed, but please don't damage a story thread. Short posts, joking etc, even sniping, is all fine. But it must be in the spirit of the forum. "I blo u away wiv my gun" would only be acceptable in the Worlds Longest Thread, or you would need to post it in a forum other than the FOG Prime Topics.

Care to explain yourself?

Well if you can call 2 of my fav games a majority then yes. 2!
Care to explain yourself?

I was sure it was in six figures. Maybe not - I don't pay much attention to them, to be honest.
Either way, there are still too many of them!

True, but the first and third points should apply to every forum except FoG Chat, IMHO.
I understand that SR want a lot of activity, and I don't mind off-topic stuff if it's remotely interesting or amusing. I mean, christ, me, YH and Meka have posted enough in our time - hopefully amusing to most.
But even I have to admit that, recently, there has been very little in the way of worthwhile or valuable contribution lately.
While the volume of posts must make the selection of GAD winners more time consuming, I'm sure that the *quality* (or more precisely, the lack thereof) of most of them has made it far easier.
Though I notice that has been 'trimmed' and is now down to around 30,000 posts - I'm sure it was around 150-200,000. Probably due to SR's recent archiving.

It's never been as big as 200,000! The whole of FoG Prime is only around 100,000 now.
But I still agree.
> I even think one in each forum is too much.
Yup, me too.
