Can you guys remember the days when alls that we had to entertain ourselves in the gaming and console world was such things like the Sega MegaDrive and the Snes along with the ever classic Commadore 64 and Spectrums???
Did you ever wonder at that time how the gaming world would change so much over the years???
I know i did.
A few years ago we were pleased with the graphics and games availiable and nobody was complaining about anything really.
There were no debates going round about which console is better or how powerful consoles were or anything.
It was just so pleasing to have the first step towards the gaming generation of today.
And nowadays look at how much the whole industry has evolved into the competetive thing we love so much.
The next step into what started to prove to get better and better was the release of the Playstation followed by the N64.
People were amazed at the things Sony and Nintendo accomplished by giving you a big boost into the amazingly cool and detailed games that started to be made.
It was a huge step forward for gamers and how we loved it!
As time passed developers created bigger and better things for the same consoles.
We were in the age were we thought this is the best ever and nothing else can get any better.
Gamers from all around wished for nothing but a playstation or an N64 for christmas because we all new that they were going to get even better asa time went on further.
When game developers couldnt go any further as they had the best games out that they could offer for the consoles............. Sont decided it was time to push that litle further and produce the PS2!
People were shocked at the ability of the PS2 and even the base games that had nothing much to offer apart from to show a tiny amount of the PS2's power were being snatched of the shelves in anticipation and hunger to feel what the next step forward is like.
Gradually developers started to get to know the PS2 and its true power and have started to use it to thier advantage, making games that would absolutely shock even your parents.
Gamers couldnt believe what was on offer with the PS2 and would have never thought of it in thier wildest (well i suppose some people will have weird drems but i dont want to know what happens in some of them) dreams when they were having just as much fun a few years earlier while playing Tomb Raider or Tekken.
Developers continued to push that little further and use just that little bit more or the PS2's power and today we have gaming masterpieces like GTA3 and Metal Gear Solid 2.
Still though, the PS2 hasnt been pushed to its limits so who can imagine what the PS2 can do???
The PS2 has a lot of potential and it will just take time for the game makers of today and tomorrow to bring us the games that will truly outstand us all.
Along the line of the PS2's huge success...... billionaire Bill Gates wanted to take a step into the gaming and console wars when he and microsoft made the XBox.
The gaming world had evolved once more with the immmense power of the XBox.
The specs for this machine proves to be so much more powerful than the PS2 will ever be and already shows it with the few base games it gives on its release over in the UK.
Game lovers were blown into another universe and all say that it definately cant get any better than this.
But, as with the PS2's base games...... from (t)here we know things can only get better as time passes and the game developers get used to the consoles of "tomorrow".

Where were you in the 1990s? The battle between the NES and Mastersystem seemed the first, then there was the big one - the SNES and MegaDrive, then the Playstation, N64 and Dreamcast, and you know the rest. Debates on the subject of 'Console Wars' have gone on for years!
