Finally, we have the Platinum range on the PS2. It was inevitable, as the PS1 version was essential to the appeal of the machine.

My complaint is the covers. They have adopted the grey again! DAMMIT! I might be classed as sad by many people, but I like the fact that my PS2 games all lined up match eachother.

Sticking a Platinum game in your collection instantly looks cheap. You can see for a mile off that nasty greyness! Why not have a banner across the bottom of the front cover and keeping the sides the same?

Personally, I'll wait. As soon as the platinum range is released, the prices of those games in the second hand bin will fall at least to match, and then I'll have the nice box instead, thank you very much!

Well I have GT3 and TTT and I have Red Faction on the PC. F1 I borrowed and found it was utter tosh. DOA2 I have on the DC. Starfighrter is the only one I don't have and like the look of but I can't say I would be interested really.

Not anything for me then. :-(

MWA - I can only really comment on the ones I have:

GT3 - Unless you have a hatred for Gran Turismo, this is a steal at £20. Better value than the upcoming GT Next/Concept.

DOA2 - I like this a lot. Though with 3 potential AAA fighters coming out at full price later this year, it might be worth waiting.

F1 2001 - A very good F1 game. Though being a big F1 fan, it still doesn't really have that something to capture the feeling of an F1 race. Also has some silly relatively minor bugs.

Starfighter - Nice game and graphics, though a bit low on missions. Worth waiting for Jedi Starfighter?

Great thing Sony have got going there with the Platinum Range.

I understand your problem with the cases, I have seen them myself and like to stack my games. For instance I put all my N64 games together in order of review score by a certain magazine. If they moved out of place I would freak. Hey i'm an very orginised man :-)

I'm getting my PS2 tommorow, which titles do you most reccomend out of the range? Apart from GT3, I know that just kicks.

Thats excellent news for all PS2 owners. People who got their PS2s after these games came out may want to look out for some of these titles. I will be considering picking up at least 1-2 of these. Red Faction looks like a good bet and so does Star Wars Starfighter....

The only one I own in that list is Gran Turismo 3.

I hope that Pro Evo, Tricky and TH3 get on the list too.

Then I will have loads more. :D

So in that list there are 3 that i own, and 3 that i want:

TimeSplitters
Red Faction
Star Wars: Starfighter

SO with MGS 2 taken care of with a GAD and £60 floating around in my bank i could see some classics coming my way soon. :D
