The video has a decent mix of in-game footage and cut-scene footage, yet there's little difference in the quality of the graphics throughout. It's typical Rare graphics. Lush countryside, nice and colourful!
The Arwing sections look great, really great, and the movement when in battle looks fantastic. One scene has Fox swinging his staff at around 6 or so enemies, very impressive.
It looks so much better now than it did at E3 almost a year ago, so the delays have been well worth it.
I'm hoping for a September/ October release here, if it's outin June in the USA.
Damn it looks fine.
I meant Frog!
You say that the Arwing pieces are a hell of a lot better.
That's good news. On the E3 video that came with the NGC magazine a few months back, the arwing bits looked sub Lylat Wars standard.

Cheers.

yeah, you can see the individual tufts.
I don't think I've ever seen such impressive fur!
LOL...
> I'm not sure that the texture is quite as good for Slippy, his frog companion,
Nah, Slippy's isn't great, but it still looks damn good.
we'll see

Hehehehe...

Yeah, now there's a combat roll to the side feature. It means you can dodge attacks and if an enemie's invincible from the front, you comabt roll to the side and smack him in the back. Impressive feature.
Still not much news on the dinosaur companion though. You

He's called Prince Tricky. Some of the puzzles can't be done without his help. Also, you can get around faster when you ride him (;-D)
Also the flying is not

Yup, looks pretty sweet :-D
The more I see of this game the more I'm

Again, yup. It's looking fantastic. And it's being released only a month after launch. Hats, shirts, trousers and socks off to Rare, they rule.
Sorry, but I don't think I've gone on about this quite enough!
There was talk about a special technique Rare were using 'fur-shading' they dubbed it, and it really makes a difference in the cut scenes in which you see Fox McCloud. I don't think I've ever seen such impressive fur! I'm not sure that the texture is quite as good for Slippy, his frog companion, but considering that most of Rare's games involve furry creatures, we'll see some great looking monkeys, squirrels and bears (that's Donkey Kong, Conker and Banjo, I haven't gone mad.)
The comparisions with Zelda on the N64 seem justifyable now, definitely with the battle system. Though no doubt Rare will have put there own twist on it. The movement during battle is fluid, I just hope it's responsive.

I was looking forward to this game when it was on the N64. But now it's been moved and had the StarFox lisence thrown in... *dribbles*
It is looking damn fine. There's an 8 page preview of it in CUBE magazine this month actually.
Best addition looks to be the section where you can fly the dinosaurs :-D:-D
