I just made a music player, seems simple enough, i've made some sound samples which are supposed to loop continuously but sound seemless, i've cut them so they sound how i want them in my audio editor, but in Flash they'res a really anoying 1/2 second :o gap, and it sounds like i've messed up....well I have, can someone tell me how to make the loop smaller please.

also, can someone tell me how to make a movie so It plays only once, is there something in the actionscripting I can adjust so it plays only once? i've tried stop(); at the end, but it keeps looping.

Produce a shape in FireWoks setting the Rounded Corners to 100%, No apply a gradient to the fill till you have the look you want.

Apply a smooth inner bevel to the shape setting the bevel depth to 100% and the smoothing to 100%. You should now have a rounded tube looking 3D and chrome...

Now create the shape you want to knock out of it on another layer and alight to where you want this hole to be then select both shapes and go:

Modify>Combine>Punch

This will now punch out the hole from the shape behind giving you a single tube with a hole in... all pre bevelled too!!

Now put all of you button text in a layer under the tube so that it shows through the hole...

Should do it nicely!

No, I made the metal tube in Adobe, then the top button in Fireworks, by the way, I do try and do them bmyself before asking you to help me out (do them for me) I have tried cutting a circle out of the image, but it didn't seem to want to work.
here are the buttons: http://www.gelboy.8k.com/photo3.html

i've just made a pleasing metal tube button, and I don't want those horrible square edges, how can I make the ends round? maybe even on another image? e.g. round_end.jpg/button1.jpg/button2.jpg/round_end.jpg

thankyou for any help

Ideally I'd need to see the files, but you should be able to clone the shape and punch out the areas you need from it and then stitch the images together...

Other wise, use a vector based app to create a new version using the correct shape and gragients and export it to Flash. (I assume your pputting this in Flash? If so, Why jpegs?)

As i said it's down to the sampling rate? Are you using MP3? If so, use the lowest you can without comprimising your sound quality

>where? it's annoying not having a manual...
thanks for your help all the same :)

Whats the frequency of the loop, have you chosen some huge high quality format? Youhave to remeber that as well as streaming the animation, it has to handle the music too allw ithin a small bandwidth so the moment youintorduce some huge audio format, it will bottle neck and affect the stream...

In you properties box for your objects, set the loop to '0' for the movie clip. THis ignores the stop() if it's told to loop as an object!
