Edgy and Dringo sat around a small table in the underground cave at the edge of the woods, which Edgy called his hideout. The darkness welcomed Edgy when the battles were over, it was his home. His sanctuary.
"We've got to do something new! No matter how many of them we kill, another comes along. It's just not working," said Dringo as he lowered his forehead onto the palms of his hands.
"But what? We've killed Goatboy, we've had many numerous attempts at the others, they've even managed to kill you! So what else can we try?"
Dringo picked up a small case from the floor beside him and opened it on the table. He pulled out a laptop computer, engraved on the back panel was 'Death to Gates'. He switched it on, Edgy just stared in curiosity.
Dringo started typing something and up on the screen came the Notables secret network system. He pointed, "Look, there's an election planned very soon. They are about to recruit someone else into their collective. We have to try and stop them."
Edgy smiled and asked, "How did you get into their system? Haven't they got top high-tec security?"
Dringo nodded and pointed to the words engraved onto the back of his laptop. "They're using Microsoft Windows XP. It's got tons of bugs and the built in firewall isn't too good. It took a matter of minutes to get in."
"So what are you planning to do?" Edgy picked up his axe, preparing himself to go to battle with the Notables again. As he did so, there was a bright flash coming from outside of the cave, followed by the explosion of thunder.
"I was hoping you'd be able to tell me that." replied Dringo.
Edgy paused for a moment. What could we do to stop them recruiting more Notables. We can't kill all the regulars as we wouldn't have anything to campaign for....
"That's it!" Edgy lept to his feet, "We have to try and become Notables ourselves! That way we can infiltrate SR Towers and finally set things straight!"
Dringo nodded, but as he did so footsteps were heard by both the Notables, getting faster and faster but further away.
Edgy, quickly reacting picked the gun out of Dringos holster and fired it causing a loud and echoing bang. Both the hunters ran through the winding cave heading for the entrance where they saw a trail of blood. They followed, but it stopped at the entrance. Deciding it was futile to try and find the spy, they turned back into the cave and started walking.
"He wont live," stated Edgy and they heard a thud from behind them.
Dringo stopped, nodded and smiled, "Here's to the future!"
