I have a video here of a mate's scoob pulling off his drive and driving away, only a few seconds like, but I'd like to use the audio from it on a flash intro.

You can import the Audio from a quicktime movie straight into Flash 5... Easy!!
download sound forge, click record and play the movie, but shut down any other programs, it's annoying if someone logs onto msn when your recording, then save and import, or do as Turbonutter said.
Have you tried importing it into Flash? You can do some stuff with .movs, both being made by the great Macromedia. Other than that I can only suggest Quicktime Pro...
