But because Everton can not afford to pay £40,000 so Aston Villa agreed to pay £15,000 per week of his wage. Is this good business, giving one of your talented players away on a free and then paying £15,000 pounds a week even when he is not employed by Villa?
If Villa had no use for him, they're much better off to pasy 15k a week wages to him, than 40k. Makes good sense to me.
One of our best players? Ha! All he did when he use to come on was look sheepish on the half way line with his hands on his hips, occasionally get the ball and then maybe do some fancy skills and end up losing the ball. Don't get me wrong, he was a class player in his day, I just think he is past it now.
I know he moved for free, but I thought that was so they could pay his £35k a week wages??
I don't really believe that Villa are still paying him, unless they owe him from un-paid wages, or as some kind of compensation?? So I don't see why Villa would still be paying him, as Doug Ellis wouldn't even give Gregory tarnsfer funds!
