The first story i came across was David Ginola winging about his time at Aston Villa and how it was *hell* there. Just because John Gregory thought he looked a bit on the porky side and after seeing him a few times this season, i got to agree with him.
The 2nd story is the whole David Beckham scenario where apparantly £80,000 a week isn't enough for him. he needs all these image rights or whatever victoria keeps telling to have them put on his contract. now £80,000 is roughly about what the average person earns in 4 years usually doing alot more hard work then just kicking a ball around a pitch for 90 minutes.
Then the 3rd story i read really just shows up these overpaid prima donnas for what they really are. A bunch of whiny, arrogant little *insert swear words here*. The story is about Alex Zanardi getting his life back together after his horrific accident at Germany last year where he lost both his legs. His sole ambition is to be able to walk with his son again and to get his life back to a sort of normality.
This is really different from a whiny frenchman whose feelings were hurt because he was called fat and a overpaid, overhyped man named David Beckham. All these guys are just after the money now. they may have love for the game but that got lost somewhere around the time a wallet was opened.
Now i bet Alex would love to be able to get back in a car and race again no matter if he was being paid or not. He would probably just be thankful for being able to do the thing he loves. However he can't but Beckham, Ginola and all the other arrogant sports stars who think they've got some divined right to be paid by the bucketload can. They should look at Zanardi and realise just how lucky they are to be able to do the things they love because they never know when they won't be able to. They need to drop their attitudes and outrageous demands and just get on with playing their sport.
But that still is very tragic!!
Do you know which cklub he was with???
There have also been players who've died, and I do mean footballers. Quite a few from Russia and that area died at the end of the summer and start of the season, last year, and they were only about 21! One of them just collapsed in training!!
I also remember that Niccolo Galli the young Italian who was at Arsenal died last season in a motorbaike accident last year in Italy. This also proves how lucky Beckham and Ginola are compared to the people earning less at smaller clubs!
I feel really sorry for that German guy. He can NEVER play footy again!! Someone should make sure that the likes of Beckham and Ginola read it!
Thanks for that too, as I haven't read today's paper yet.
