"AT THE END OF THE DAY"
David Beckham and Glenn Hoddle usually utter this classic at least three times during every after match interview.
"IT WAS A GAME OF TWO HALVES"
Such a cliche that no one says it anymore, unless they are being ironic.
"SHOCKWAVES THROUGH EUROPE"
Usually stated whenever an English team stuffs a well known side from Italy or Spain.
"HE DIDN'T QUITE GET ENOUGH PURCHASE ON THE BALL"
A rare and strange comment, I think first uttered by commentator Barry Davies.
Any more?
What a classic
Go on, think about it for a minute!
'THE BOYS DONE GOOD TODAY'
regularly used by Beckham which shows us his illiteracy concerning the English language!
'IM PROUD OF MY PLAYERS, THEY PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT TODAY'
used by managers after their team has had it's butts whipped by the opposition!
If you want to hear some really funny ones, listen to an interview with Claudio Ranieri (Chelsea boss) after a match!
And I would love it if Bobby Robson said that this season ;)
Something like....going down in his estimation, and when you say that about this, that, and everything.
I can't remember it exactly, but it was funny!
Some of the immitations were also funny, especially the ones on Soccer AM!
