I have just returned from a technology summit in Stockholm.
One interesting item that was mentioned there was that a new DVD type is in development.

You may have heard of this already, excuse me if so....

Anyway, currently in a lab somewhere (we weren't told where) there is a 3D Holographic DVD in development.

What does this mean to us ? Well basically the DVD will now have the capacity to store over 300 Terrabytes of information.

In other terms imagine getting a DVD that can hold every movie EVER MADE !!

Oh yes, a few years will pass before this becomes mainstream, but imagine the possibilities !!!

Games.... my God, imagine the potential to develop truly massive games...

Will it happen, do we want it ?

I do !

MGS3 (if it ever gets put down for development) could have 2 hour cut scenes with just 5 minutes gameplay between each....

HHHmmm.... maybe not such a good thing.

However for the DVD - Movie world it sounds great to me.

They have enough space on DVD's now for massive games.. most of them dont take up all the space.
