Well, the best one was a couple of months before the elction...
A few months earlier President Yelsin had resigned and been replaced by Putin who was under scrutiny for his handling of the military.
In Pakistan, the country with the 6th largest army, General Musharrif had lead a military coup to become leader.
In Indian, the country with the 5th biggest army, President Vajpayee had just been elected.
So, when Bush was asked who ruled Russia he spurted something about "Vadabeer Butin"
When asked who the General who lead the Pakistani coup was he said "His name was: General". He then persisted to think that the guy's names was "General"
When asked who ruled india he said "I dunno"
