Has anyone else been receiving fake eBay emails?
I'm getting quite a few worded:
''Have you received the payment for the above item? Please confirm, as it was sent yestarday and I have no news from you. Thank you.''
I presume if you click on the link it asks you to log in to what looks like the real eBay site so the sender can capture your username and password to go scamming?
I will forward one onto Freeola now, just thought I'd mention it as I'm getting quite a few of these at the moment and at first glance they do look pretty authentic. It grabbed my attention straight away because I haven't sold anything on eBay for about 2 months but for someone who has I could see them being tricked by this.
and yes I also spotted that they have spelt yesterday incorrectly! :)

Had a closer look at one of those emails and the address in the link is actually eBoy.co.uk, which sounds to me like a great name for the latest bunch of Louis Walsh managed, talentless no hopers! :)

Think you mean 'spam emails are all the rage in Chile at the moment' if reports are anything to go by ... especially directed at Santander Bank, makes you wonder why :¬)

Suppose I must just be unlucky then as I've had about half a dozen of them but it is good to know it's not a massive problem for all Freeola users. I did sent one of the offending emails into abuse@freeola this morning and I've just checked the links contained in them and they do indeed seem to send you to a non-eBay address, so they're definitely fake.
