Tak and the power of the juju is a collababoration game that came to THQ and Nickleodeon. It is designed for young children.
Its a game where there are lots of good moments, although there are alot of tedious moments such as collection tasts and the
exploration elements bring the game down a bit.

It tells a story of the life of pupanunu people. The power of the moon juju has been stolen by the evil shaman Tlaloc and
somehow its turned half the pupanunu people into sheep! thats bad because it has also turned Lok, a warrior, which is
supposed to be their savior. Whilst Tak.. whom is a young villager, kind of goofy who has a mow howard haircut and purple
paint on his face, is trying to restore the power of the moon juju which will be able to save the pupanunu people! Although
there are silly names in the game, its got amazing results and and tak and the power of the juju do try to be as funny as
they can!

In taks journey to save the pupanunu peiple, there are many steps. Although its a pretty basic platforming business. Tak can
perfprm many basic moves including : run, jump, double jump, hang of ledges, slide down zip lines, and whack enemies with
his club. In the early stages of the game, Tak is given a pole, which is ised to pole vault onto higher ledges. And also it
serves a blowgun. And that is very useful for the games environmental puzzles. Some of the puzzles include rams, rhinos and
orangutans which is wildlife that inhabits this world. The puzzles are hardly ever difficult, but they are pretty clever.
During the game there are many items to collect, they will include : moonstones, gold teeth, yorbels, feathers and more.

Also thrown into this game are snowboarding levels which is basically used to break up platform action. Although these have
been done before in other games such as rayman 3 and klonoa 2. Tak has some camera management issues, but to be fair, it isnt
anything worse which you would expect to find in any platformer game. The convulted level designs is what hurts tak the most.
that is because they are laid out in such a way its makes it unclear about where the next objective lies which then leaves
you to roam around the level to come across what you are exactly looking for. It is very annoying when you just want to get
back to the nain hub level after completing all the level goals.

Tak and the power of the juju has inspired a very unique and visual style of the game, but the aspect of it still leaves
something to be desired. All the environments are odd looking which are kind of blocky, they have nice watercoloured textures
but they are sort of generic. When Tak swings his club, it can often look like it is missing the frames, but they are basic
animations though. Occasionaly there are some frame rate issues, but they have no effect on the gameplay experisnce what
so ever. This games definately proud of the presentation and also the little bit of attitude. The rayman series also works to
taks advantage.

The sound and design in Tak is pretty good. It features high quality voice acting and also noteworthy pipes. The voice acting
is fantastic but the lines in which they read can be a little forced. When tak defeats an enemy, he will usually shout out
BOOMSHAKALAKA and OWNED, and although they are very annoying, you get used to them as you get further in the game.

This brilliant game has decent humour, and rather good graphics and its a step up from other different games aimed at younger
people. Although the muddled up level design can cause frustration to the younger players who just want to get on with the
game. So really it would appeal to the more maturer audience. It is a decent platformer although it should not neccessarily
be your first choice of game!
