No, I didn’t accidentally post this here when it should have been posted in my secret porn forums that nobody can know about. Its doesn’t have anything to do with spanking or any other silly fetishes. No sir. What I'm on about is a physical reward.
“What the f…?”
Yes. Read on.
I am on about a physical reward at the end of a game.
You’ve finished a superb game, great graphics, gripping story line, amazing gameplay and harmonic sounds. That itself is a reward. The movie sequences showing off the in game graphics, and the famous boss at the end. Beaten and busted. You complete the game. Your left with a couple of new characters, maps, weapons, or a few cheats. Or maybe just a game saying “Game Over” but your well pleased with yourself. You have completed it.
Wouldn’t it be great at the end of a game, you got a physical reward? Example.
Finished game, at end of game there is a special code. You write this code down and take it into your local game store. With this code you can receive your limited edition T-Shirt, or a £10 voucher off any game made by that certain producer.
Hm?
After the code is used, it gets destroyed and can never be used again. This eliminates little porky pie cheaters :o)
The game would have to be completed within a certain time, or a certain amount of kills or somewhat. Or if the game was extremely hard just completing the game would give you the code. No cheats could be used or whatever. This would all have to be decided with the producers. However, it’s a idea.
Wouldn’t this make you play harder, for longer? If at the end you knew you would be getting a physical reward?
It sure as hell would me grind my fingers to the bone. It would make me wear metal gloves to protect my precious playing hands (Don’t twist that :oP) I would spend all my spare time and my working time (Har!) playing this game. Faster. Harder.
However, great idea’s do not come without drawbacks.
Deciding what the prize would be, depending on the budget. Prizes could range from a free watch that brakes after 24hours, to a quality made hoody with embodied logos. Anyone fancy a GTA:Vice City hoody? I would, it’d be interesting to see what they’d put on it, and you could also show off to all your mates at how great you are. Heh :o)
100 packages = $1,000,000? (In GTA money fool :oP)
100 packages and 100% completed = Hoody.
Can’t really compare can you?
Yet again, crackers, hackers and pirate peets would try to succumb this operation. Trying to sell you fake codes, little gadgets that you attach to your favoured console. Enabling this gadget to get the code. Bollards. Probably wreck your console and you’d end up with a fake code.
You could also end up with impossible games to complete. Meaning you don’t actually get a prize. And the game is silly.
I think there are more good points than bad. Budget would play a big part in this, so would the actual arseability of producers. Thing is, we pay £40 for a game. Play it. Complete it. Put it in a draw or sell it for half of its prize then see them put a £30 sticker on it second hand. *Cough* GAME *Cough*
Still, you wont discover things unless you take risks.
Life is a risk. Making a game is a risk. Giving away rewards is a certain winner. (It is really :o) )
It makes sense..
