So little but so powerful. The sentence that describes the Gameboy Advance. Look at the size of this little machine and then play on it. You won’t believe your eyes. Everything about it staggers belief, especially when one thinks back a few years to the old handheld snoopy & pacman games!
Available in numerous colours and designed so that young and old can play it (referring to the layout of the controls and range of games available).
There is the same old directional cross control pad, 2 side buttons & 2 shoulder buttons. The screen is wider than the old gameboy one making for better viewing.
Its on offer for about £64 here at SR, though you should look at buying it in a bundle (with a game and peripheral). This is a good way to start out and will be cheaper for you.
So far I own/played on played Rayman, Mario kart, F zero, Warioland and street Fighter and I have spent alot of time on them. All top range games and all packed with a challange. You cannot say you don't want to buy a GBa for juyst one decent game as there is many!
However the console with its near playstation 1 graphics does have a major downfall, the lack of a backlight. Yes it would have consumed more batteries but so what? I have the magnifier &light add on, provided by SR. Very handy little device, highly reccomended. In sunlight or a well lit room, the clarity is excellent. .
For once, Nintendo has supported a release with a load of decent games. Read the Sr reviews and you will see how decent they are!! Games are selling between 25-35 pounds, which isn't too bad.
Also the gba will be able to be plugged into the forthcoming gamecube and when connected will act as a subscreen to what is going on on the telly! It can also be used as another joypad.
Whatever age you are, this console is truly great. Full colour, decent sound, requires only 2 aa batteries for about 8 hours play, loads of addons & software support, totally portable and if you can get over the lack of a backlight, go out and buy one! I would recommend getting the charger pack, it's already saved me on quite a few batteries and it's enviro-friendly!
Enjoy your GBA's

Nope, I only want Mario Kart and I ain't buying it for that, still good review.
Dosn't the GBA have light problems.
Are there back lit GBA that suck dry all batteries now?
Ah well, you can't win em all.
Not very portable seeing as you can't play it anywhere, only where there is decent light.
heh, anyway, just disagreeing with you there :0)
