you reckon my p4 will have one???

Just push it into a PCI slot and windows xp should detect it and if not then it's easy to install, Windows xp has a pretty good home networking wizard which is easy to use, also check that the PC does not have onboard LAN, you will find this above the bottom 2 USB port (if there are any).

my dad didn't ask for it when he ordered it on the phone. He didn't forget the 19" monitor and printer though.
