"Super Dooper Einstein Puzzle"

Einstein wrote this, claiming 98% of people wouldnt get it.

I started it with my brother about an hour ago and just finished... the little git beat me by one bloody minute, I shall never live it down.

Here it is:

There are 5 houses in 5 different colours. In each house lives a man of a different nationality. Each drinks a different beverage, smokes something different from the rest and keeps a different kind of pet. There are no two colours, nationalities, drinks, smokes or pets the same.

Given the following facts:

The Brit lives in a red house.
The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
The Dane drinks tea.
The green house is on the left of the white house.
The green house owner drinks coffee.
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
The man living in the house right in the centre drinks milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.
The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
The German smokes Prince.
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.
The question is . . .


WHO KEEPS THE FISH?

Ah, but it would still be worth a try and guess :D But you could really annoy him if you took ages to work it out. He would eventually fall asleep and you could then kill the cleverest man in history. There's a way out of everything you know : )

I think he means working it out :P

I think you'd take your chances trying to work it out

98% hey? But there's a one in five chance of getting it right without even thinking about it. He's more than just a little bit off with that statement.

Saw this once before, on these forums I think. I had a go at it, solved it easily enough. I then set it to my little brother, who also got it right (and not by guesswork).

I think Einstein was a little off the mark when he said 98% of people wouldn't get it, but then his teachers always said he was thick :)
