Right, I want a Minidisc player.

I started off looking at the really cheap ones (as in 70 or 80 quid) but now I've gone a tad higer (as in 120-130 quid).

Currently, I am torn between the Sony MZE500 and the Sony MZR500. (I also REALLY like the MZG750 but I don't wanna pay that much so I can forget about that one, regardless pof how cool it looks! :-D)

Anyway, the MZE500 looks good and has an in-line remote but it is non-recordable. This is slightly annoying but my brother already has a recordable one so choosing a recordable one is not absolutely essential for me.

The MZR500 on the other hand, is recordable and only costs 10-15 pounds more. But it doesn't have an in-line remote, and it will get really annoying having to get out the minidisc itself every time you want to change track/volume etc.

So after all that, all I really want to know is can you buy in-line remotes separatley? I know one person who says you can, one person who says he doesn't think so and a few people who say they don't know (and even a few who added they don't care to the end of that). :-D

So, can you buy in-line remotes separately?

I already have a minidisc player in my room but I want a portable one. Anyway, it doesn't matter now cause I have found an extremely nice one. And it has a remote.

And Gaz! I'll shut up when I'm good and ready!!!!!

My advise is to buy a deck instead of a portable, at dixons you can pick up this surperb Grundig MD deck for £70. I use mine all the time and it's fantastic, instead of forking out for an expensive recordable portable, I recommend buying a read only portable and a recordable deck.

I had an old md player, one of the big first ones that came out (MZ-R50 - possibly?). It was recordable, but the on-line remote broke, and it was out of warranty, so I went and asked whether I could buy another one. They said about £50, so I said something rude, and just bought a nice new tiny playback only one.
