The "Nintendo Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Sponsored by MTV, the festivities took place at the world-famous corner of Hollywood and Vine. A killer crew of VIP DJs provided the beats, pulsating disco lights provided the atmosphere, and Nintendo GAMECUBE provided the entertainment.
Over 120 celebrities got their games on in Panasonic's "Cubistically Correct" gameplay environments, playing Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Pikmin, NBA Courtside 2002, Star Wars: Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II and more. It's tough to say which game the celebs liked the best, because there wasn't an unoccupied NINTENDO GAMECUBE controller all night long.
Here's what some of the gaming elite had to say:
N'Sync's Joey Fatone: "What does Nintendo mean to me? Innovative."
Singer Mandy Moore: "I grew up on Nintendo. Mario was my best friend. I can't wait to get inside and play NINTENDO GAMECUBE."
"Malcolm in the Middle"'s Justin Befield: "This is what I want for the holidays. I've been reading and hearing such awesome things about the 'Cube, and I know it's going to be great."
American Pie's Shannon Elizabeth (playing with her husband): "I'm not very good with video games but my husband can't stop playing [Madden NFL 2002]. I'm sure that as soon as we get a GAMECUBE, I'll learn quickly how to play because he'll need a partner."
"Once and Again"'s Billy Campbell: "I have heard that the NINTENDO GAMECUBE is extremely designer friendly, which means a lot of great games. I'm really looking forward to playing it."
The party started at 8 pm, and raged on until the wee hours of the morning. GAMECUBE seemed to fit right into the Hollywood scene, outlasting even the latest of the party stragglers. On top of that, its Indigo color was a perfect match for many of the guests' purple hair!
It was an invite-only affair, but you can get the chance to visit a Nintendo Cube Club when the tour stops by a city a near you. It's the perfect opportunity to test drive NINTENDO GAMECUBE's killer line-up of games before they're released.
I know he's not Dewy or Malcolm, but if he's older it'll prove to everyone that Nintendo does appeal to older gamers. Well, you can see that from all the others though!
I reported that MONTHS ago!
Mainly due to the fact Mandy was there, but hey!
:)
