Hmmm, it was Christmas day yesterday, for anyone who managed not to notice, and I now find myself in a strange position. I feel privaledged to have joined an elitle group of people, who, despite being labelled and laughed at for their commitment to a single platform, or company, actually own every signle major hardware platform on the market at this presice moment in time.

Yes, imagine it, you get up on Christmas morning to open your socks and boxer shorts like a good -post-teenager, and what do you come across?? Halo. Well, I know my parents aren't daft, something is going on, so yes, eventually I uncover an Xbox with Jet Set Radio Future and Sega GT2002. So once it's all set up and stuff, there happens to be more consoles sitting around my TV than your likely to find in most games stores.

So anyway, back to the main point, I know am able to givce a comparison of all three consoles, and basically, they ALL ROCK!!! There are just some things which can't be put in any other way than bluntly, and, sorry to say it to the fanboys, but there is very little to chose from between these systems other than the games you play on them, and even then, as long as your aren't a "casual" gamer, if anyone actually knows what one of them is, then you should be happy with any one of these consoles.

At the end of the day, when you walk into your living room and a Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox all stare back at you, you don't pick up the joypad of the "best" console so that you can phone your mates and brag about playing on the best console ever, it suddenly becomes different. I want to brag about the games I've played, I want to brag about how good I am at them and I want to gain a level of depth in a game which not having to care about console wars can facilitate. To put it simply, you pick up the pad so that you can play the games, not the console, and this Christmas, all of the top consoles have so many unique, interesting, quirky and not to mention playable games that it's hard to decide exactly what to play.

I'm stuck now, so what shall it be?? Halo?? Jet Set Radio Future?? Metal Gear Solid 2?? Pro Evolution Soccer 2? Timesplitters 2?? Super Mario Sunshine?? Super Monkey Ball?? Resident Evil??

So many games, so little time!
