Am I the only person who sees the WWf slipping back into the bad old days of Hulkamania?
Sure the NWO will be the bad guys when they eventually turn up (No Way Out seems the logical place). But to be brutally honest the fans will love them anyway, they will bring something new to the table that Austin, rock, HHH and co. just can't produce anymore.
The only problem is that we are reverting back to the same old thing, Hogans big boot finisher, Nash's big boot and powerbomb (if he's allowed to use it?) and Hall's fallaway slam variation.
The 1980s/90s era was dominated by the Hulkster, Savage, Warrior and of course Ric flair on the other side of the fence with Sting, Luger and the Steiners.
Vince likes the big guys and who do you think he wants to spearhead his new WWf campaign? The big guys, Hogan, Nash, hall and the rumoured Savage, Warrior and Steiner.
Explain this to me then, why build up a core audience for the fats-moving high octane Hardy's/Van dam style matches then swerve bcak to the style that you have workked to turn away from.
Do the fans really want a balding Hogan big-booting his way through all comers or do they want a RVD/Tajiri match with every known move thrown in with chairs/tables and anything else left standing?
I mean look at the real stars of the WWf and their lack of exposure,you have light heavyweights who will never get far, the odd david and goliath match maybe, but that's it. the EXtreme gang who are slowly drifting into the woodwork, big men like Big show and UNie who shouldn't even be there. The poor WCW guys who thought they had a chance when Vinnie Mac offered them a buy out and then the only wise man of all Flair, a man who can still command an audience as long as he doesn't try to wrestle.
With the impending NWO invasiona dn the rumours of other big names coming in, I am beginning to think I may as well startwatching my old tapes from say Wrwstlemania 4 onwards and predict the upcoming matches.
The only reason i watch now is to see who will JOB for Hogan, Nash and Hall, will Austin lie down and take a boot for the team?
Will Rock allow a powerbomb to bury him like his Mummy Returns movie.
can someone please tell undertake rto wear a wig that haircut does nothing for his image and why not put Rikishi and big Show ina tag team match with Crash and funaki?

Big Show and Rikishi vs Crash and Funaki
Funaki starts off against the Big Show. Attempts a few punches Big Show doesn't feel it. Funaki bounces off the ropes straight into a body slam. The Big Show picks him up and headbutts him. As Funaki gets up Big Show (not little Sho) signals for the chokeslam. He starts to pick him up but Crash comes in and breaks it up.
Rikishi and beats up Funaki and Crash and then somehow collides with the Big Show. Crash delivers the Tornado DDT to the Big Show while Funaki kicks Rikishi in the face. Crash pins Big Show but just before 3 Big Show kicks out.
Meanwhile Rikishi gets up and knocks down Funaki with then kicks Crash into the corner. Crash stumbles around a bit before sitting down in the corner. Rikishi slaps his ---(what a put before wasn't allowed) and delivers the Stink Face.
The Big Show gets to his feet picks Funaki up by the neck and Chokeslams him and pins him 1...2...3.
That's what would happen, unless the WWF scriptwriters have a brain transplant.

I agree completley, good post. I would prefer to watch RVD Vs Tajiri or anouther light heavyweight match than anouther crappy re-match between Austin and Rock or anouther match like that.
